The European Athletics Championships conclude this weekend but the race for DP World Tour cards is set to begin with the First Stage of DP World Tour Q-School getting underway in ten days time with twenty three Irish players scheduled to compete across ten golf courses across Europe.

Flooded with rumours of big name players like Jon Rahm set to leave, his fellow Spanish talent Jose Luis Ballester has entered the First Stage at Huddersfield Golf Club where Royal Dublin’s Niall Kearney will compete.
Four LIV players have entered tour school with Michael La Sasso pencilled in as are Luis Masaveu and former DP World Tour winner Peter Uihlein.
At Q-School last year, no Irish players earned DP World Tour cards in what was a harrowing moment for men’s professional golf in this country with Mark Power the best of them, obtaining a full HotelPlanner Tour card for this term.
It’s the Players Club in Bristol where hopes of good news will begin with Tyler Hogarty of the Clutch Tour, Alps Tour duo Hugh Foley and Sam Murphy and Roscommon amateur Thomas Higgins teeing it up from August 25-28.
The following week in Hulencourt, Belgium, Fota Island amateur David Howard is the lone Irishman as is former League of Ireland footballer Stephen Grant in Germany.
Three Irish including John Hickey, JR Galbraith and Daniel Mulligan are at The Northumberland Golf Club, Newcastle .
John Murphy and James Gould-Healy head to Sweden and Arlandastad Golf to begin their journeys while there is a large Irish contingent at Durham in mid-September with Ruaidhri McGee, Dermot McElroy, James Sugrue, Marc Boucher, Simon Bryan, Robert Brazill, Tom Dowdall, Luke O’Neill, Paul Conroy and Cathal MacCanna competing.
North of Ireland champion Dylan Keating hits Golfclub Donnerskirchen in Austria as Ronan Mullarney rounds off the Irish action at Frederikshavn Golfklub from September 22-25.
