Liam Grehan and Rowan Lester are locked together at two-under-par with 18 holes to go at the Sunshine Tour’s KCM Golf Challenge at Nchanga Golf Club in Zambia.
Making their final appearances on the South African-based circuit before the mid-season break, Grehan finished round two strongly to make the cut on the number and he had a mixed performance in round three, carding five birdies and four bogeys to card a one-under 71 that moved him to -2 overall.
Lester began the day at four-under and was eyeing a strong finish that could push him into the top 50 in the rankings, but despite making two birdies and an eagle, he shot a two-over 74 having made six bogeys on a blustery day in Chingola.
South Africa’s Haydn Porteous had little trouble with the breeze, however, and his eight-under 64 propelled him to the top of the leaderboard where, at -16, he’ll take a one-stroke lead into the final round over fellow countryman Oliver Goldhill who shot a 66.
Germany’s Allen John sits in solo third at -14, two behind Porteous, with one further stroke back to Kyle Barker who holds sole possession of fourth.
