Conor O’Rourke produced a sublime back nine to land victory in the Bunclody Pro-Am with two shots to spare over Damian Mooney.

The K Club man was among the late starters and was slow out of the blocks, parring the par-5 opener and then bogeyeing the par-4 second, but that was his only dropped shot and he made the turn at one-under after birdies on three and eight.

He really put the foot down on the way home though, carding birdies on 11, 12, 15 and 18 to card a five-under 67.

That put him two clear of Lough Erne’s Mooney who had set the clubhouse target in the early wave, and O’Rourke was the only man to better the veteran Belfast native.

Paul Eivers, Richard O’Donovan, Liam Power and Jimmy Bolger shared third at two-under, with Cormac Power, Colm Moriarty, Michael McGeady and Brian McCormack the only other players to shoot in red figures and they rounded out the top 10.

Simon Thornton was among seven players who finished tied for 16th at +1, but he retains his position atop the Elavon Order of Merit having won three of the nine tournaments he’s played on the circuit in 2026.
