Europe’s largest PGA Pro-Am is back for the third successive year as The K Club gears up to host the next instalment of the revered MCM-sponsored PGA Pro-Am, held across the Kildare resort’s Palmer North and Palmer South courses on August 10-11.
Teams of three amateurs and one professional will compete in a 36-hole stableford competition, with the professionals also competing in a strokeplay individual event, on both the Palmer North and Palmer South Courses at the iconic Kildare venue on August 10th & 11th.
Last year, entrants got to play the Palmer North Course in tour conditions ahead of the Amgen Irish Open and this year, the same goes for the Palmer South with the KPMG Women’s Irish Open scheduled to take place at the end of August.
Once again, it is expected that the field will include many big names from the Irish and mainland UK PGA regions, as well as several touring professionals, each vying for the lion’s share of the €100,000 prize money. This isn’t the only PGA event at The K Club this year with the venue also hosting the PGA Cup at the end of September, where the leading PGA Professionals in Great Britain and Ireland battle their United States counterparts.
Cormac Sharvin, with 80 DP World Tour starts to his name, won the event by a single stroke over Niall Kearney in 2024 and then staged a successful defence in 2025, this time winning by two over former AIG Women’s Open champion and five-time European Solheim Cup team member, Georgia Hall.
“It’s such a special event,” said Sharvin, who is looking forward to a hat-trick attempt. “It’s always an honour to play at such a prestigious venue and the golf courses really suit my game.
“This tournament is definitely one of the highlights of the season, and I’m really thankful to The K Club and to the sponsors MCM for making it all possible.”
Conor Dillon, PGA in Ireland Manager, also paid tribute to the venue and sponsors.
“The K Club is such an important venue for Irish golf in general, and we can’t thank them enough for the continued support with this event and with the upcoming PGA Cup,” he said.
“The feedback from both the professionals and amateurs is always fantastic, and that’s down to the venue and the sponsors.”
“We pride ourselves on having both golf courses in the best possible condition all year round,” said Michael Maxwell, Director of Golf at The K Club, “but with the KPMG Women’s Irish Open being held on the Palmer South and the PGA Cup also on the Palmer South shortly afterwards, all visiting professionals and their amateur partners are in for a treat.”
MCM Engineering Ltd, based in County Carlow, are one of industry-leading companies in Ireland, and having sponsored the event in 2025, were happy to extend their support once again this year.
“At MCM Engineering, we’re always proud to support our local communities and this is an event that we’ve really gotten behind and enjoy being part of,” said Noel Monaghan of MCM Engineering. Top-class golf at a world-renowned venue is always a delight, and we look forward to being part of it once again this year.”
The three leading teams after the two-day tournament, along with the winning teams from each day will be awarded prizes at the gala dinner after the final round.
