In 87 DP World Tour starts, with two victories, Norwegian Kristoffer Reitan earned just over $3.6 million. This week, he earned the same amount for winning the PGA Tour’s Truist Championship, taking his total earnings across his 12 rookie season starts over the $5 million mark.
If anybody was wondering why the PGA Tour is favoured over the DP World Tour, Reitan is a case in point.
And Alex Fitzpatrick is another. The younger of the Sheffield siblings has also made 87 DP World Tour starts, coincidentally, and banked just over $3 million, and his fourth-place finish at Quail Hollow and the near $1 million he earned takes his PGA Tour prizemoney to just shy of $3 million in three starts this year.
Rickie Fowler last won on the PGA Tour in 2023, but despite coming up short at the venue where he claimed his first victory back in 2012, the Californian and one half of the Hojgaard twins – Nicolai – shared over $3.5 million for finishing tied for second.
This takes Fowler’s career earnings on the PGA Tour to close to $60 million. Rory McIlroy’s T19 finish earned him $245,800, and it takes him to within one made cut of passing the $115 million mark in total PGA Tour earnings.
LIV Golf’s future may still remain uncertain, but Lucas Herbert is making the most of it while he can as the Australian powered to an impressive win at LIV Golf Virginia and banked the top prize of $4 million.
It may have been Herbert’s first LIV victory, but he has now banked over $30 million since moving in 2024. Sergio Garcia’s solo second finish saw him pick up $2.25 million, with Bryson DeChambeau finishing solo third and claiming $1.5 million.
Graeme McDowell added a quarter of a million dollars to his earnings, taking him close to $16.5 million on LIV, while Tom McKibbin picked up slightly less and is closing in on $14 million.
At the Myrtle Beach Classic, Brandt Snedeker turned back the clock to win and picked up $720,000 in the process. It was a disappointing week in the end for Seamus Power who only managed to cover his costs with his $9,000 in prize money.
The battle for the number one ranking in the women’s game took another twist as Jeeno Thitikul took full advantage of Nelly Korda’s absence to claim her second win of the year and the top prize of $487,500 at the Mizuho Americas Open, while on the DP World Tour Yurav Premlall torched the field at the Estrella Damm Catalunya Masters to win by an incredible 14 shots – a new record on the regular DP World Tour circuit – and claimed $467,500 and the lead in the DP World Tour’s European Swing.
