Max Kennedy can patch up the wounds of his near miss on the HotelPlanner Tour at the weekend knowing that he has taken a huge step towards his season-long goal of earning a full DP World Tour card for next year.
Despite being beaten in a playoff by James Morrison at the Blot Play9 in France, Kennedy has risen 52 places on the latest Road to Mallorca Rankings and is now 20th in the season long race with the top-20 receiving DP World Tour cards after November’s Rolex Grand Final.
Meanwhile, Liam Nolan fell one place to 10th in the Road to Mallorca Rankings after he opted not to compete last week in France although he is back in the field for the Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge this week.
The top-45 will qualify for the Grand Final in Alcanada with Dermot McElroy the next best placed Irishman in 64th after he slipped four places down the rankings.
Mark Power is 87th while Jonathan Caldwell is 100th.
Elsewhere, Leona Maguire arrested her slide down the Rolex World Rankings as her top-20 finish at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship helped her rise three places to 84th in the world.
