Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort will host an Irish PGA Pro-Am tournament for a third consecutive year on Wednesday, 18th June 2025. Supported by Irish Life, this year’s event will raise funds for Pieta. In 2024, the tournament raised €26,400 for the Down Syndrome Centre, with all proceeds going directly to the charity’s support services.

The tournament has become a fixture in the Druids Glen Golf Course annual calendar and continues to attract strong interest from both professional and amateur golfers. Played in teams of three amateurs and one PGA professional, the format offers participants a competitive but accessible day of golf on one of Ireland’s most highly regarded parkland courses.

Speaking about the tournament, Alan Vallely, General Manager – Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort, said: “Following the success of the last two years’ events, Druids Glen is excited to partner with Irish Life, Pieta, and the PGA again to bring this Pro-Am to fruition at our Golf Course. This marks the third consecutive year we’ve hosted the PGA Pro-Am, which is a key part of our goal to position Druids Glen as a venue for major events throughout the year.”

The course, which reopened in May 2023 following a multi-million euro investment and redesign by Peter McEvoy OBE, has since hosted two Pro-Ams and continues to attract national and international interest.

John Roberts, Marketing Manager – Irish Life Financial Services, added: “Irish Life is proud to continue our support of the PGA Pro-Am. This year’s partnership with Pieta reflects our wider commitment to wellbeing and community support. Druids Glen has proven to be a strong setting for this tournament, and we look forward to being involved again this year.”

Simon Thornton, Winner of 2023 & 2024 Pro-Am said : “All I can say is wow, what a golf course, absolutely stunning! As much as I love other Parkland Golf Courses I think it’s one of, if not the best parkland course in Ireland. It’s absolutely fantastic, and I very much look forward to coming back again next year.”

The event will follow a fourball format, with one PGA professional and three amateurs per team. Morning tee times will run from 7:40am to 9:20am, followed by lunch, while afternoon teams will tee off between 12:00pm and 1:50pm, with an evening meal served afterwards. A two-tee start will be in operation for both sessions. Team entry costs €800, with a €15,000 prize fund sponsored by Irish Life. Proceeds from the day will go to Pieta.

An overnight stay at the resort is available at a preferred rate of €165 per night, including breakfast and full access to the hotel’s leisure facilities.
