Rory McIlroy will begin his 10th attempt at completing the career grand slam in the company of tournament favourite, Scottie Scheffler and fellow American Xander Schauffele at Augusta National.

The all-star trio will get their opening rounds underway at 15:42 (Irish time), just behind the defending champion Jon Rahm who is joined by reigning US Amateur champion and the first amateur to win a PGA Tour event since Phil Mickelson back in 1991, Nick Dunlap and former US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick.

Shane Lowry will be among the later starters, playing alongside another all-American duo in J.T. Poston and Akshay Bhatia, the final man to secure his berth at the Masters, doing so by winning last week’s Valero Texas Open. They tee off at 17:24.

Tiger Woods’ hopes of a record-equalling sixth Green Jacket and a record-setting 24th Masters without missing the cut will begin in the company of Jason Day and Max Homa, and they are due to get round one underway at 18:24.
