Rory McIlroy has been trimmed into 9/1 from 10/1 with BoyleSports to complete a career Grand Slam this week by finally claiming a green jacket at The Masters.

The Holywood man is approaching ten years without a major championship victory and had failed to finish better than 19th in his first five PGA Tour starts this season, but punters have latched on to his chances after he posted a season-best third at last week’s Valero Texas Open.

World number 1 Scottie Scheffler, who was the only player to finish ahead of McIlroy in the 2022 edition, is the 4/1 favourite to win his second green jacket having won twice in his last three PGA Tour starts.

Including his third-place finish behind Scheffler and McIlroy in 2022, Shane Lowry has finished no worse than 25th in his last four appearance at The Masters and strong each-way support has seen the Offaly man clipped into 35/1 from 40/1 to add a green jacket to the Claret Jug he won at the 2019 Open Championship at Royal Portrush.

LIV golf exile Jon Rahm is a 12/1 shot to become the first man to go back-to-back at The Masters since Tiger Woods in 2002, while Xander Schauffele is rated the most likely first-time major winner in the field at 16/1.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said:“Scottie Scheffler is bang in form, but Rory has posted seven top tens in his last ten outings at The Masters and his timely return to form last week has boosted confidence among punters that this is his year.”
