Scottie Scheffler is now a 4/1 shot with BoyleSports to win his second green jacket at The Masters next week as punters pile in on the world number 1 ahead of the season’s first major championship.

The New Jersey native, who is sitting out this week’s Valero Texas Open, has been in sparkling form this season and is set to tee off at Augusta with two victories and a runner-up finish in his last three outings.

Scheffler was already a 9/1 favourite at the start of the year to claim a second Masters title, but the deluge of market support puts him well clear of second favourite Rory McIlroy, who is 10/1 to complete a career Grand Slam and end a major championship drought that dates back to 2014.

LIV golf exile Jon Rahm is a 12/1 shot to become the first man to go back-to-back at The Masters since Tiger Woods in 2002, with Xander Schauffele rated the most likely first-time major winner in the field at 20/1.

Shane Lowry, who boasts two top-five finishes in his last three appearances in America, has been clipped into 40/1 from 50/1 to add a green jacket to the Claret Jug he won at the 2019 Open Championship at Royal Portrush.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said:“Scottie Scheffler is shooting the lights out at the moment and if trends continue in the coming days, he’s going to tee off at the shortest price of any golfer since the dominant days of Tiger Woods.”
