The Legends Tour has signed a new deal with OFX as their Official FX Partner and the agreement also sees OFX become the title sponsor of the Irish Legends tournament at Seapoint Golf Links in County Louth this June with the prize fund now raised by €100,000 to a new total of €400,000.

OFX provides the Legends Tour with FX management, as well as a profitable and sustainable partnership structure with long-term, mutual revenue benefits. OFX helps businesses securely move money globally, in over 50 currencies at great rates. They also help businesses build currency risk management strategies. They provide an easier way for competitors and players to receive and transfer funds at great exchange rates.

Phil Harrison, Legends Tour CEO said: “We are delighted to have OFX on board as the Irish Legends title sponsor and as the new Official FX Partner of the Legends Tour.

“As a global tour, staging tournaments and working with players and fans across four different continents, there is a natural alignment in having OFX as part of our team.

“Joining an already strong partner portfolio at the Legends Tour, the addition of OFX demonstrates the broad range of attributes we have to offer in supporting our strategic partners to achieve their goals.”

Commenting on the announcement, Maeve McMahon, President EMEA, of OFX said:
“We are delighted to announce our sponsorship of the Legends Tour. This partnership not only allows us to increase our profile in the European market, but also aligns us with a tournament that showcases some of the most exceptional talent in the world of golf.

“As a company, we are committed to providing support and expertise to businesses needing to transfer money globally. We see a strong parallel between the Legends Tour and OFX, not just the longevity of the tour and players, but also with tournaments taking place around the world which seamlessly aligns to our global business vision and reach.”

Andrew Phelan, the CEO of Seapoint / Genesis Links, added, “The new ownership of Seapoint Golf Links is thrilled to be hosting the Irish Legends for a second year. It gives us the chance to show the ongoing enhancements to the links, our award-winning clubhouse and world class restaurant which has become a big hit with the locals. The exposure that the Pro Am, the Celebrity Pro Am and the Tournament itself brings allows us to share the new Seapoint with all the stakeholders, namely members, suppliers, tour operators, media and the local community”.

The return of the tournament to Seapoint Golf Links in County Louth has been supported by Fáilte Ireland, the National Tourism Development Authority. They support long-term sustainable growth in the economic, social, cultural and environmental contribution of tourism to Ireland.

Martin Donnelly from Fáilte Ireland said: “Failte Ireland are delighted to support the return of The OFX Irish Legends event to Seapoint Golf Links. It will be wonderful to see legends of golf arrive onto the property and Ireland’s Ancient East in June, to once again showcase the world class golf product and wider experience the region has to offer.

“We applaud the team at Seapoint for hosting the event for a second year and we look forward to working with them and the Legends Tour team to drive as much publicity for the property and wider Ireland’s Ancient East region, that the event provides the opportunity to do.”

The OFX Irish Legends will be staged at Seapoint Golf Links in County Louth from June 19-22 and will feature Major champions Paul Lawrie and Ian Woosnam in the field as well as the defending champion Peter Baker, who won by seven shots in 2023, with more to be announced.

The Legends Tour 2024 schedule starts in May and features 20 tournaments across four continents with a prize fund of more than €18 million.
