Stuart Grehan leads by two shots after day one of the Toro Tour at the Atalaya New Course.
Grehan fired a sensational bogey-free round of 63 to climb to eight-under-par.
The Tullamore man, who won a winter event in Spain last month, made five birdies in a row either side of the turn from the seventh to the eleventh, before picking up birdies in three of his last five holes.
Tucked in behind Grehan is England’s Harvey Byers on six-under.
Karl McCormack is five shots off the pace after an opening 68 while Evan Colley, John Hickey, and Mikie Grealy are one-under.
Colley shares second in the amateur class and is four shots off the lead.
