Richard Kilpatrick fired a professional course-record 66 to capture the Writech Mullingar Pro-Am title on Thursday.

The Banbridge professional fired six birdies in a blemish-free effort to claim victory by two shots from Limerick’s Tim Rice.

It was a four-birdie back nine of 33 that did the damage with the experienced Damian Mooney, and Alex Hogan, sharing the last place on the podium after returning three-under par 69s.
