Patrick Keeling, Padraig O’Dochartaigh and Marc Boucher will link up with the Golf Ireland squad at next week’s Brabazon Trophy after they booked their spots at Sunningdale in the Northern Qualifier on Tuesday.

Eighteen spots were up for grabs in the 18-hole qualifier and the trio all finished inside the top eleven.

Keeling will join his brother Sean next week after he fired a four-under 68 to claim fifth place, just two shots off leading qualifier Ross Laird.

Gweedore’s O’Dochartaigh turned in a three-under 69 while Carton House man Marc Boucher was a shot further back in eleventh as the Bridgestone Order of Merit leader continues his fine form this season.

There was no luck for Belvoir’s Luke Kelly, Charleville’s Jordan Boles, Portmarnock’s Brandon St John, the Island’s Conor Murtagh and Royal Portrush’s William Beatty.

An eight-man squad was announced on Monday for the Brabazon Trophy which included Hugh Foley, Rob Moran, Alex Maguire, Sean Keeling, Liam Nolan, Matthew McClean, Joshua Hill and Robert Brazill.

The Championship is a stroke play format and will be contested by 144 competitors, consisting of exempt players and those who have progresed through qualifying. The competitors will play 18 holes on each of the first two days. Thereafter, the leading 60 players and ties will play a third round the following day, before a re-draw and a final 18 holes on the fourth day.
