Enniscorthy’s Paul Conroy shot a second successive round of 67 and he will take a share of the lead into the final round of the SoCon Men’s Golf Championship in Greensboro.
Conroy is tied with Mats Edge of East Tennessee on ten-under-par while his university, Chattanooga are just one shot shy of East Tennessee on twenty-under.
Conroy teed off just one shot off the early pace and a flawless second round has him in prime position to claim his second collegiate win after picking up the Wolfpack Invitational at the end of 2022.
Two birdies in his first four holes gave the Wexford man some early momentum before a birdie on the par-5 8th saw him turn in 33.
Conroy shot into the lead with an eagle three on the tenth and he closed out his round with eight straight pars.
