Royal Dublin’s Max Kennedy finally turned an extremely consistent season into a winning one when he edged to a one-shot win at the Aggie Invitational to claim his maiden collegiate title.

Kennedy shot rounds of 71, 66 and 72 for a seven-under total and his super form of five successive top-10 finishes with four of those in the top-5 has finally been rewarded with a victory.

The Louisville man also helped his University to a three-shot win in the team competition.

The junior becomes the first individual winner of a tournament since Kinsale’s John Murphy won twice in the 2019-20 season having carded fifteen birdies across the 54 holes.

“I’m really proud of the guys,” Head Coach Ryan Blagg said. “This was a big win for us. They played very disciplined golf this week and beat a great field as well as a top 15 team on their home course. Max continues to show why he is great. This win was inevitable for him. He outworks his opponents and does everything the right way. We are going to celebrate today and then start getting ready for the conference championship.”
