Malone’s Fionn Dobbin eased to an eight-shot win at the Edge Golf Championship.

A final round 76 gave the Belfast talent a two-over total ahead of Ville Virkala, with Douglas starlet Jack Murphy in third on plus eleven.

Dobbin led the field by eight heading into the final round after a second round of 69 and he extended that to nine with an opening eagle on the par-5 1st.

After one birdie and eight pars on yesterday’s front nine, the teenager made things more exciting carding just two pars on the front with two birdies and four bogeys in an outward half of 36.

Bogeys on 10 and 11 made it three dropped shots in row before he picked a shot up on 12.

Pars followed before he closed with three successive bogeys.

Gavin Tiernan moved up eight places into a share of sixth place on fourteen-over after a two-over 74.

Adam Buchanan was eleventh alongside Charlie Mooney.

Aodhagan Brady was 26th while Mark Gazi was 27th and Ciaran Murphy rounded off the top-30 for the Irish.
