Dobbin pulls eight clear at the top at Edge Golf Championship

Fionn Dobbin holds an eight-shot lead heading into the final round of the Edge Golf Championship.

Rounds of 73 and 69 have the Malone golfer at two-under-par and he is the only player under par through 36 holes.

Dobbin eased to the turn in 35 courtesy of eight pars and a birdie on the par-3 2nd but seized control of proceedings with three birdies in four holes which included a bogey on eleven.

The Northern Irishman dropped his second shot of the day on 15 but finished strong with a birdie two on 17.

The Irish performances have been strong with Douglas teenager Jack Murphy in a share of fourth place on seven-over and just a shot shy of second place.

Adam Buchanan is three shots further back on ten-over in a share of ninth place.

Gavin Tiernan is in 14th place on plus twelve.

Aodhagan Brady and Charlie Mooney share 21st while Mark Gazi and Sean Cooper are in 30th.

Ciaran Murphy and Donnacha Cleary round off the Irish contingent in 39th and 40th.
