Ballyliffin Golf Club has taken a step forward in the battle against soaring energy costs by installing a Solar PV system.

The project was completed last week as ROL Group and their partner Solar Evolution installed a collection of Solar PV’s for expanded water heating capacity and to surge protection measures.

154 Tier 1, 470W Type, Jinko Solar PV panels have been installed totalling 72.38 KW and are attached to the large mixing shed in the yard and are also connected to the clubhouse and machinery sheds.

Ballyliffin will continue their quest for sustainable energy with EV charging points set to be installed.

The solar panels will reduce the club’s consumption of oil and electricity and cut back on energy costs with a payback of just over four years.
