Kate Lanigan, Aideen Walsh, Olivia Costello and Katie Poots will be flying the flag for Ireland in the Spanish Ladies International Amateur at La Reserve de Sotogrande from February 28 to March 5.

The girls in green will play two rounds of strokeplay before the top-64 branch into the match play stages.

Three of Ireland’s Hexagonal side will tee it up while Knock’s Poots is in for her first taste of action this year.

Lanigan (The Hermitage), Walsh (Lahinch) and Costello (Roscommon) all starred for Ireland as they came second to Spain in the Hexagonal Matches earlier this month with Lanigan in fine form following a solid performance at the R&A Student Series.

Ireland pushed Spain all the way in the Hexagonal decider, going down by six points to three with six of the matches going down the 18th.

Walsh played in this event last year but did not progress to the match play stages, as did Lanigan, while Costello and Poots are making their debuts.
