Castletown Golf Links on the Isle of Man are inviting applicants for the Head Professional role at the Old Tom Morris designed course on the island’s southern coast. Rated one of the top courses in Britain and Ireland, Castletown Golf Links’ is situated on the rugged Langness Peninsula and is a course that combines incredible scenery and majestic terrain to provide an unforgettable playing experience.

Overview of role:
A unique opportunity for a highly experienced Head Professional at a privately owned club with a 130-year history.
Touched by legends of old – designed by Old Tom Morris, later Dr. Alistair Mackenzie and Mackenzie Ross has created a wonderful heritage. An active membership of 500+ and a course in peak condition has proudly earned CGL Top 100 GB&I status.
Proven track record in advanced tuition and retail, a thorough understanding of serving members and providing exceptional customer service is essential. To run Pro Shop on an ownership basis with indoor studio and outdoor practice facilities for year-round instruction and custom fitting.
Key responsibilities:
Operate and stock a strong retail business both hardware and high-quality clothing brands. Work closely with the General Manager to provide an exceptional membership and visitor experience seven days a week. Provide and develop a variety of instructional programmes including elite, junior and female development both on an individual and group basis. Provide an unparalleled custom fitting experience both independently and by organising OEM visits.
Key requirements:
- 8+ years’ experience as a professional golfer
- Proof of:
- reputation to provide quality professional tuition
- operating a successful Pro Shop on an ownership basis
- leading a small team employed at own discretion to ensure consistent premium service
- Natural desire for people engagement, energetic, with passion to build lasting relationships
- Preference for experience in a Links environment
