Carton House have made a promising start to the European Men’s Club Championship after round one was suspended due to darkness at Troia Golf Club in Portugal.

The weather has been dreadful so far this week but the men from Carton have hung in well and are just three shots off the lead having completed just twelve holes of their opening rounds.

Carton House are six-over-par with Marc Boucher on level-par and just one shot off the individual lead.

The Carton House team is made up of Boucher, Keith Egan and Darragh Flynn with two scores counting towards the overall score.

Boucher is on course to be counted alongside Flynn who is six-over after 12 following a tough run around the turn.

The Dubliner is currently fourth place on his own with the trio ahead of him on one-under all in the clubhouse so he could over take them on Friday morning.

The Irish International bogeyed his second hole but responded with a brace of birdies on the fourth and fifth before a birdie on seven made it three birdies in four holes while he dropped shots on six and eleven.
