Jack Hearn and Jack Madden are both in contention to pick up their first individual wins in America heading into the final round of their respective tournaments.

Ulster Strokeplay champion Hearn of South Alabama is sitting in a share of 7th place after rounds of 73 and 69 in the Tempest Collegiate at Tempest Golf Club.

The South Alabama Senior is on two-under-par just four shots behind Rick Frauenberger.

Hearn rose thirteen places in the leaderboard thanks to a pair of opening birdies before adding three more on the eighth, thirteenth and sixteenth holes while he dropped shots on third third and twelfth.

Hearn will be hoping to scoop the double with South Alabama sitting in second place on nine-under six shots adrift of Rice in what has become a two-horse race for the team title.

Meanwhile in the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate Madden shot rounds of 69 and 72 to lie sixth and five shots behind Arkansas State teammate Devyn Pappas on three-under.

After a morning round of 69 the Portrush native shot level-par in the afternoon to remain in the hunt at Ridgepoint country club.

Madden looks set for team honours with Arkansas State leading by eight shots heading into the final day with five of the eight team members inside the top-11 on the individual standings.

The Senior had a rollercoaster period around the turn. After a bogey on the first was cancelled out by a birdie on six, he would not have a par from the eighth until the fourteenth carding three bogeys and three birdies.
