Screene helps Boston claim silverware while Conroy and McCabe top ten in US

Ireland’s Canice Screene secured a top-15 finish as she helped Boston College win the aptly named Boston College Intercollegiate at Blue Hill Country Club. 

A final round of three-over 75 saw the Croham Hurst golfer finish in fifteenth place on thirteen-over as Boston College went on to win by two shots on plus 37 after 54 holes. 

Screene finished 12 shots adrift of individual winner Chantal El Chaib of the Sacred Heart University after rounds of 69, 71 and 77 were enough for a two-shot win. 

Meanwhile Paul Conroy shot a one-under 70 in the final round of the JT Poston Invitational to secure a first top-10 finish of the season. 

The Enniscorthy man shared ninth place on one-over, just five shots behind Walker Isley who claimed a two-shot win on four-under. 

The Chattanooga student carded nine straight pars to end his round after an early bogey on the fifth was followed by birdies on the sixth and ninth. 

Chatttanooga finished in third place on four-over colllectively but did post the second best combined score of the round on two-under.  

There was also a top-10 for Joshua McCabe of Grand Canyon in the Nick Watney Invitational. 

McCabe another product of the excellent Roganstown junior ranks shot a superb joint best round of the day with a six-under 65 catapulting him up 26 places on the leaderboard and into a share of 9th place. 

McCabe carded seven birdies with his only blemish coming on the par-4 10th. He started fast with four birdies in his opening eight holes before responding with birdies on 12, 16 and 17 after that bogey on 10.
