The cream rose to the top of the leaderboard at the Cahir Park Pro-Am with Liam Grehan and Simon Thornton proving inseparable after signing for three-under 68s on Tuesday.
Both players landed an eagle amongst their three-under tallies, sharing the spoils by one stroke from Glasson’s Colm Moriarty.

It was a nice tune up for Tulfarris pro Thornton who enjoys another main event opportunity this week on the DP World Tour at the ISPS Handa World Invitational at Galgorm Castle and Massereene.
For Grehan, it’s a continuation of a remarkably consistent campaign with top spot on the Order of Merit within reach for The K Club star ahead of the Irish PGA Championship at Carne from August 18-20.
Clontarf’s Eoin O’Brien was the only other player to break par at Cahir Park, signing for a one-under 70.
