Richard Kilpatrick made it back-to-back wins after he was the last man standing at the Sheehy Motors sponsored Carlow Pro-Am at Carlow Golf Club.

The Banbridge professional carded a four-under 68 to win by two shots ahead of Waterville’s David Higgins and Patrick Geraghty.

Kilpatrick who was the joint winner of the Malahide Pro-Am last week secured the win in style with a closing eagle on the par-5 18th to take the spoils.

Only four players finished under-par in the tournament hosted by former European Tour pro Damien McGrane who is the head professional in Carlow with McGrane himself shooting a one-over 71 to finish in a share of 7th place.

The day belonged to Kilpatrick who continued his rich vein of form. He started well with four pars and a birdie on the fifth but a dropped shot on the ninth saw him turn in 35.

Kilpatrick put on a back nine charge with birdies on the 12th and 16th before that stunning eagle powered him to the summit and he would not be caught.

Higgins also eagled the 18th as he put on his own fabulous finish, playing the last four holes in four-under with birdies on 15 and 17.

Before that not much happened for the winner of the Dundalk Pro-Am and he found himself two-over after 14 holes.

Geraghty matched Higgins’ 68 carding five birdies and three bogeys while Jimmy Bolger was the only other player to finish under-par as he signed for a one-under 69.
