The Feidhlim McKibben Memorial Pro-Am takes place at Dundalk Golf Club on Monday, May 23 for what’s promised to be a special date on the Irish regional circuit.

The event is sponsored by the Dundrum Inn with players teeing up in support of Dundrum GAC. The day provides amateurs with a great opportunity to put a team together and compete alongside a leading PGA pro and support Dundrum GAA Club.

Event organisers Seamus McKibben, PGA Irish Region Tournament Operations Manager, and John Kielty, Chairman Dundrum GAC are appealing for potential sponsors to come forward with hole and green sponsorship available to support the charity golf day.

“My brother is the chairman of the club [Dundrum GAC],” said Comedian & Broadcaster, Paddy Kielty, who regularly takes part in the event and a member of Dundrum GAA Club..

“Seamus used to be my fullback whenever I was starting out, whenever I was a very cheeky 15-year-old. Seamus would actually have been in front of me, dropping the odd ball and catching the odd ball.

“So, the idea of us all coming together and trying to get a proper game organised is fantastic. The professionalism that he actually brings to his Pro-am takes it to a different level. It’s nice to see an event being done to this standard and being arranged from here in Dundrum.”

The touring comedian hopes to be able to juggle his schedule to ensure he’s at Dundalk for what promises to be another super day, though he believes not everyone would be thankful should he make it.

“If you saw my performance at the Irish Open Pro-am, I would say the people of Dundalk would probably need to evacuate if I was actually on the tee,” he joked.

“I’m on tour at the moment so I am trying to swap round a couple of things to see if I can make it on the day.”

If you’re interested in showing your support for this fantastic tradition, contact Seamus McKibben on 07793811015 or John Kielty on 07702868166.
