Olivia Mehaffey secured another strong finish in Australia as she rounded off her Women’s NSW Open with a one-over 73 to finish in a share of 20th place.

Mehaffey’s 72-hole total of 289 saw her end the week on plus one, sixteen shots behind runaway winner Maja Stark who cruised to a five-shot win.

The Tandragee native will be pleased with the last two weeks having finished 11th last time out and she carded two birdies and three bogeys on Sunday in what was a quiet day again.

Mehaffey opened her final round with a bogey on the first before birdies on the 4th and 9th saw her turn in 35.

A back nine surge up the leaderboard was not forthcoming for the 24-year-old who came home in 38.

Bogeys on the 13th and 16th saw her finish the week on the wrong side of par, but kept her inside the top-20.

Conditions proved difficult all week with only eighteen players finishing under-par after 72 holes.

Meanwhile, at the summit, Sweden’s Stark cruised to a routine five-shot victory with a two-under 70 to win on fifteen-under.

Stark teed off with a four-shot advantage over her compatriot Johanna Gustavsson and she wasn’t put under much pressure as Gustavsson could only sign for a one-under 71 after three successive bogeys on her back nine put paid to her challenge.

Stark put the icing on the cake with three birdies in her last four holes to give herself a greater margin of victory.
