Shane Lowry will swap one of the main sponsor logos he wears on his shirt for a ‘First Tee’ logo during this week’s 121st U.S. Open championship at Torrey Pines.

In a move that will duplicate Stephanie Meadow’s actions at the U.S. Women’s Open, Lowry will wear the ‘First Tee’ logo for at least the first two days on his shirts in competing over the South Course in California.

Immedis, one of Lowry’s sponsors, announced that their Immedis logo, which appears on the left breast of Lowry’s shirt will be replaced by a ‘First Tee’ logo. ‘First Tee’ is an international youth development organisation that teaches life skills and helps kids and teens build their strength of character through golf.

Speaking ahead of the event, Shane Lowry, said: “As someone who started playing golf at 13, I know all too well the positive impact the sport can have on a young person. Golf is a fantastic sport and one that so many young people can benefit from taking part in.

“First Tee is a brilliant organisation that works to give kids and teens a taste of all that golf has to offer while also promoting values that are central to golf, like confidence, respect, honesty and integrity. I am delighted to support them at the U.S. Open.”

CEO of Immedis, Ruairi Kelleher, commented: “It is a privilege to be able to raise awareness of First Tee’s remarkable work. At Immedis, we are acutely aware of how golf can be a force for good in the lives of young people and we are delighted that both of our golf ambassadors, Shane Lowry and Meadow have gotten behind First Tee and the initiative.”

Fresh from his tied-fourth finish at the PGA Championship last month, Lowry will now follow in Meadow’s footsteps and wear the First Tee logo for the duration of his run at the U.S. Open. Earlier this month, Meadow also sported the First Tee logo on her shirt while competing in the U.S. Women’s Open.

Immedis announced Shane Lowry as a Global Brand Ambassador in 2017. Fellow pro golfer Stephanie Meadow has also served as Global Brand Ambassador since 2020. Just as Shane and Stephanie are committed to their sport, Immedis says it is committed to supporting Ireland’s top golfers every step of the way.

This collaboration with First Tee, an organization dedicated to empowering kids through golf, reflects Immedis’ ongoing commitment to the sport.
