Olivia Mehaffey was delighted to record her first top-10 since turning professional after taking ninth at the 54-hole Colorado Open at Green Valley Ranch.
The former Arizona State star turned professional after a stunning collegiate career with the Sun Devils and showed her star quality with six birdies in a final round effort that saw her return a four-under par three round tally.
“First top-10 as a professional this week at the CoBank Colorado Open. Enjoyed every minute being in Colorado,” she said. “Thank you to the Colorado Open Golf Foundation for a great tournament. Also to my super host and caddy this week for a lot of fun and laughter @lkuhle. Next up Texas.”
Mehaffey’s ninth place finish also see the Royal County Down and Tandragee product bank her first pro cheque, taking home $2,800 having missed the cut on her Symetra Tour debut last month at Mission Inn Resort.
Mehaffey signed with Dublin-based sports management company Sigmoid Sports which was co-founded by her former coach, David Kearney.
Savannah Vilaubi won the event by five shots at 15-under par, taking home the sizeable $50,000 first prize cheque.
