Kingspan, the Cavan-based maker of high-performance insulation and building envelope solutions, has today announced a two-year partnership with fellow Cavan native Leona Maguire. Leona, who turned professional just over a year ago, recently enjoyed her second pro victory at the Symetra Classic event in North Carolina. The sponsorship will see Leona wearing the Kingspan logo on the collar of her competition clothing.

Kingspan have a strong history of supporting some of the biggest names in Irish sport, with golfer Shane Lowry, Ulster Rugby and Cavan GAA among the teams and stars to wear the Kingspan logo at events and competitions around the globe.

Leona Maguire said:

“Kingspan have a track record of supporting sports professionals who are looking to develop and grow, so I’m really happy to be working with them over the next two years. With both of us hailing from Cavan, it’s going to be great to have a little bit of home with me wherever I go on the tour.”

Geoff Doherty, Chief Financial Officer of Kingspan, said:

“We’re really excited to be working with Leona over the next two years in what will be a hugely important stage in her career. Her transition from amateur to professional has been seamless. We’re looking forward to supporting her as she continues to develop her professional career.”

Leona’s most recent win put her in second place in the Volvik Race for the Card, where the top ten at the end of the season will receive playing rights on the LPGA Tour for the 2020 season.
