And so it continued!  Another outstanding day was had by all the participants at the Irish Golfer Event at Cork Golf Club yesterday.

Event 6 of the 14 series Irish Golfer Tour took place yesterday at Cork Golf Club. Blistering sunshine all day, a drop (literally) of rain in the afternoon and a day of fun, laughter and more than a little competition, saw the field compete on one of the best parkland courses in the country. It was not just the weather that was blistering either as some serious scores were posted. Liam Hickey (Rathdowney) pictured above began the year playing off 18 and teed it up yesterday after being cut to 12. Liam carded a stunning one over par gross score to claim top spot in category two with seven shots to spare – welcome to a single digit handicap Liam !

Category one was a much tighter affair with Martin Devlin (39 points) just edging out Ben Harte (38 points).
Both category winners now advance to the grand final tournament of champions taking place at the K Club Palmer Ryder Cup Course on Sunday October 14th. The select field at the K Club will be made up of our 28 category winners from the season plus the Top 10 players on the Nature Valley Order of Merit.
