It’s the week after a major and the week before a major but there is still plenty going on from an Irish point of view across Canada, USA and Austria.

PGA Tour

Pádraig Harrington tees it up in a regular PGA Tour event for the first time in over twelve months when he joins Seamus Power and Shane Lowry at the RBC Canadian Open at TPC Toronto.

Harrington is embarking on an eight week stretch of events and after a T18 finish at the PGA Championship last month he is in fine fettle as he balances life on the senior and regular circuits.

“I have eight events in a row, I don’t think too many people are doing eight events in a row. Just a lot of good events, I am delighted to be playing in Canada next week, nice to get a PGA Tour event in before the US Open. I like to play the week before a major.”

Rory McIlroy, a two-time Canadian Open winner, is absent from the field.

LPGA Tour

Leona Maguire and Lauren Walsh are looking to bounce back from missed cuts at last week’s US Women’s Open as they get back on the horse at the Dow Championship.

HotelPlanner Tour

After a week off Liam Nolan bids for three top-10 finishes in a row at the Interwetten Open in Austria’s Schladming-Dachstein Golf Club.

Nolan is one of six Irishmen in the field as he joins Gary Hurley, Max Kennedy, Ronan Mullarney, James Sugrue and JR Galbraith.

The top-15 players in the Road to Mallorca Rankings will earn DP World Tour cards at the end of the season and Hurley leads the Irish charge in 26th with Nolan 31st and Kennedy 35th.

Clutch Pro Tour

Paul McBride can seal automatic promotion to the HotelPlanner Tour next season with a third Clutch Pro Tour win at the Motocaddy Championship.

The Island golfer who won last week is joined by fellow promotion chasers Alex Maguire and John Murphy as well as Brandon St John, Marc Boucher, Rob Brazill, Daniel Mulligan, Dermot McElroy, Steven Hackett, Rory Williamson and Tom Dowdall.
