The ticket ballot for The 155th Open at St Andrews will open on Monday 6 July for fans to submit ticket applications to attend the Championship taking place from 11-18 July 2027.

Ticket prices for The 155th Open will start from £40 on Practice Days for an adult and £150 for an adult on Championship Days.

The Open remains one of the most family-friendly major sporting events with free tickets available to under-16s thanks to the long-running ‘Kids Go Free’ initiative. Almost half a million young people have attended The Open for free since it was introduced. Discounted tickets are also available for 16-24-year-olds. These tickets must be applied for in the ballot.

Fans can register their interest for the ticket ballot via TheOpen.com from now until it opens on 6 July when ticket applications can then be submitted. Fans will need to be members of One Club, the free-to-join digital membership programme presented by Mastercard.

Mark Darbon, Chief Executive of The R&A, said, “The Open returning to St Andrews is one of the truly iconic occasions in the sporting world and the demand to attend the Championship at the home of golf is always extremely high.

“We are committed to delivering a world-class fan experience that reflects the stature of The Open. We have recently invested in elevating the Championship through new enhancements like the Last-Chance Qualifier, Heroes Classic and additional on-site entertainment and activities for fans.

“Whether it is watching the world’s best men’s players on the Old Course, enjoying the atmosphere or sharing the occasion with family and friends, fans can expect an unforgettable week and outstanding value for money. We want The Open to be accessible to as many people as possible and are proud to continue offering free admission for under-16s and discounted tickets for young adults as part of that commitment.

“By attending The Open, fans are also helping to support the future of golf with proceeds generated by the Championship reinvested in activities which underpin our recently announced new strategy which aims to inspire more people to play and engage with golf more frequently worldwide, sustaining the sport’s positive current momentum.”

The R&A now offers general admission tickets alongside a selection of accommodation packages, including the popular Open Camping Village, which are available to purchase now. Fans seeking an enhanced experience at The Open can also explore a variety of hospitality options, with three new experiences released today via TheOpen.com following record early premium sales for the Championship.

The Championship will return to the home of golf for the first time since a record-breaking 290,000 fans attended The 150th Open in 2022, a historic occasion that culminated in Cameron Smith producing a remarkable final-round 64 over the Old Course to lift the famous Claret Jug. The 150th Open at St Andrews generated over £300 million in economic benefit for Scotland, which included a £106 million direct boost to the Scottish economy and £201 million in global destination marketing.
