2026 Team Europe Solheim Cup captain Anna Nordqvist and her Swedish compatriot Madelene Sagstrom will play in this year’s KPMG Women’s Irish Open at Carton House, a Fairmont Managed Hotel from July 3-6.

The announcement comes less than 24 hours after defending champion Annabel Dimmock and world number one amateur Lottie Woad became the first players to be confirmed in the field.

Nordqvist is part of the furniture when it comes to Solheim Cup folklore with her name firmly etched into the history books of the competition having been on five winning European sides making her one of Europe’s most successful players with 17 wins from 35 matches against the USA.

The 37-year-old has played in nine Solheim Cups in total and has also won three major titles while she also boasts six LPGA Tour wins and four LET wins on her glittering CV.

Sagstrom has played her part in European Solheim Cup folklore as well, making four appearances including defeating Ally Ewing in the Sunday singles in Ohio as Europe won on US soil for just the second ever time in 2021.

The Swede has one LPGA Tour win to her name, coming at the Gainbridge LPGA at Boca Rio in 2020.

The KPMG Women’s Irish Open runs from June 30th to July 6th on the O’Meara Course at Carton House, with tournament play taking place on the final four days. Tickets are available here, and once again, free parking is available on site.
