Liam Grehan and Rowan Lester narrowly missed out on gaining full Sunshine Tour status at the Final Stage of Qualifying School.

Both players finished in a share of 24th place on two-under with the top-20 earning full cards for the season.

Grehan carded a final round of 71 after opening efforts of 70, 68 and 73 to miss out by two shots at Heron Banks Golf and River Resort.

The K Club professional carded back to back double bogeys on the 6th and 7th but rallied with birdies 8 and 9 before three birdies in four holes from the 12th put the top-20 in his sights.

Grehan dropped a shot on 16 to drop back into the pack.

Lester was in a good position to qualify from the top-20 after opening rounds of 67 and 69 but the Hermitage golfer couldn’t keep it going, closing with rounds of 74 and 72.

Naas man and new professional Rob Brazill missed the final round cut.
