As the new NI Swing gears up for a busy festival of golf events across the province, organisers of the NI Open presented by Modest! Golf are delighted to announce The Country Garage Ballymena BMW as the tournament’s new Title Sponsor.

The Country Garage BMW NI Open presented by Modest! Golf is the highlight of the new NI Swing Series and will take place at Galgorm from June 20-22, 2023. The £100,000 event is part of the overall Mizuno Next Generation Series presented by the Clutch Pro Tour.

The Country Garage BMW has a longstanding relationship with Galgorm and has been supporting high profile events and at Northern Ireland’s recognised tournament venue for years.

“We are delighted to become more involved with tournament golf at Galgorm by becoming the new Title Sponsor of the NI Open,” explained James Walker, owner The Country Garage BMW.

“For years we have been working closely with Gary Henry and his team at Galgorm to deliver a premium service during tournament weeks. To become the new Title Sponsor of this year’s NI Open was a natural fit for us and we are very excited to be part of such a great homegrown event.”

The NI Swing will see three professional events take place at key venues across Northern Ireland over a 10-day period. With a total prize purse of £165,000, the action will get underway with the £60,000 NI Masters at Clandeboye GC from June 14-16, with a Pro-am to take place on the Jun 13.

From there the action moves to Cairndhu GC for the NI Open Pro-am on Sunday, June 18 where amateurs and professionals will get the chance team up for a fun day at one of the most spectacular headland locations in Northern Ireland.

Attentions turn to Galgorm for the NI Swing finale and The Country Garage BMW NI Open from June 20-22. This will be the 13th staging of the NI Open and the 54-hole stroke play event promises to be another great occasion.

After the inaugural event at Galgorm in 2010, the roll of honour is impressive with previous winners that include New Zealand’s Ryan Fox (2016), while local favourite Dermot McElroy was an impressive winner in 2022.

“The Country Garage BMW is a great fit for the NI Open and we are delighted to welcome them on board as the new Title Sponsors of the NI Open,” explained Gary Henry, Managing Director at Galgorm. “We have worked closely with The Country Garage BMW for years and we look forward to this latest exciting chapter of tournament golf at Galgorm.”

As part of today’s announcement, The Country Garage BMW are giving away three places in the upcoming NI Open Pro-am at Cairndhu to any of their customers who are keen golfers. They are inviting customers to get in touch direct by emailing to enquiries@countrybmw.co.uk and registering your interest to play. Registrations closes on Friday (June 9) and the winners will be notified on Monday (June 12). Terms and conditions apply.
