Four Irish in the field at the European Ladies Amateur

The European Ladies Amateur Championships got underway yesterday at Lausanne in Switzerland with four Irish representatives in Olivia Mehaffey (RCDL), Julie McCarthy (Forest Little), Jessica Ross (Clandeboye) and Chloe Ryan (Castletroy) in the field.

Following the opening round Olivia Mehaffey is the leading Irish player on +1 in T39 position five shots off the leader who is on -4. Jessica Ross in on +2 in T57, while Julie McCarthy sits in T104 position on +5 and Chloe Ryan is on +7 in T117.

The cut takes place after round three and the top 60 and ties go through to the final round to compete for the title so the Julie and Chloe have some ground to make up today and tomorrow with the cut mark currently standing at +2 after the first round.
