Séamus Power closed out his third round at the CJ CUP Byron Nelson with back-to-back birdies, but with the tournament leaders all stepping forward on moving day, his round of level-par dropped him down the leaderboard.

Having led the field in putting through 36 holes, the Waterford man continued to roll the ball well but misfired with his tee-to-green game, particularly with his approach play.

Having traded a bogey and a birdie over the opening five holes, he dropped back-to-back shots on six and seven, the first when he came up short in the bunker from 82 yards, then second when he missed wide left on the par-3.

He bridied nine but bogeyed 11, birdied 12 but bogeyed 15, before closing out with a holed 10-footer on 17 and a bonus 36-footer on 18. Though his chances of victory were slim and are now all but gone, there are still crucial FedEx Cup points up for grabs and he’s just four shots outside the top 10.

Korean Si Woo Kim continues to lead but the five-stroke advantage he enjoyed after 36 holes has been cut to two with Scottie Scheffler and Wyndham Clark both shooting six-under 66s.

Kim’s lead had disappeared completely by the 11th, but he regrouped and played the final seven holes in three-under to regain the advantage and he’ll play with Scheffler in the final group.

“I think no matter what, it’s going to be fun, especially Dallas, kind of like my second hometown,” Kim said. “He grew up here. It’s going to be a lot of fans cheering for him. I know, of course, everyone’s cheering for him.

“Yeah, it’s going to be fun. I was hoping for a pairing with Scottie. Yeah, it’s going to be fun Sunday and fun to go with with Scottie.”

Scheffler, who has just one PGA Tour victory to his name in 2026, is looking to successfully defend his hometown event.

“He’s a great competitor,” he said of Kim. “I’m looking forward to the challenge of going to chase him down tomorrow. He’s one of the most talented guys we have out here on Tour.

“I think two shots back going into tomorrow, so I’m looking forward to the challenge. It’s always fun when I get to play with Si Woo. I think it’s good for the community to have two guys that are local up there on the leaderboard. Should be a fun day tomorrow.”
