In some fantastic news Play in Pink, the fundraising initiative of the National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI), has been renewed as the Charity Partner for the KPMG Women’s Irish Open at the K Club from August 27-30.

This will be the fifth year of the partnership and to date it has helped raise almost €100,000 for the charity through fundraising and stand sales during the tournament and with huge crowds expected again in 2026 it is hoped that records will tumble both on and off the course.

One of the key fundraising initiatives at the tournament is Play in Pink Friday where players and spectators are encouraged to dress in pink or wear something pink on Friday to show support for the NBCRI and the Play in Pink programme and the sea of pink surrounding the fairways and tees, as well as on the course itself, is always a joy to see.

Frances Boyle, National Play in Pink Co-Ordinator, said: “We are so delighted to continue this partnership with the KPMG Women’s Irish Open. It’s such an important part of our fundraising efforts each year and it’s become a central part of the Play in Pink programme.

“As well as the fundraising opportunities at the tournament, for 2026 it’s great that the organisers are also offering two tickets tournament to every Play in Pink co-ordinator at golf clubs around Ireland and also discounted entry tickets for everyone who takes part in a Play in Pink event during the year. It really strengthens the link between the charity and the event and we hope this it continues long into the future.”

Simon Honan, Tournament Director of the KPMG Women’s Irish Open, said: “The NBCRI do such amazing work in breast cancer research and we are very proud to once again partner with Play in Pink & NBCRI for this year’s event.  One of the highlights of the week is Play in Pink Friday and we’re so looking forward to that on August 28, where all players and spectators are invited to wear pink in support of Play in Pink and the incredible work they do.”
