It’s a double major week for the Irish while there is plenty of interest across Europe and the USA on various tours.
PGA Championship
The second men’s golf major of the year takes place at the PGA Champsionhip in Aronimink, Philadelphia and there are four Irish hopefuls hoping to etch their name on the Wanamaker Trophy.
Back to back Masters champion Rory McIlroy, who also won the PGA in 2012 and 2014, will make his 69th major championship start and his 18th US PGA appearance. He will be joined by Shane Lowry, Tom McKibbin and Pádraig Harrington.
Lowry has a good record in recent PGA Championships having finished T4 in 2012 and T6 in 2024, shooting a nine-under 62 in the third round at Valhalla, the joint lowest score in major history. He will be hoping his 52nd major appearance can be the one which ends a four year trophy drought.
2008 champion Harrington comes in very much under the radar these days at 1000/1 in the bookmakers, but the 54-year-old will be relishing his 88th major start. Tom McKibbin makes his second PGA Championship appearance.
G4D Open
Brendan Lawlor will be hoping to make it a hat trick of G4D Open titles when he defends his crown this week in Celtic Manor.
The Welsh venue, formerly host to the 2010 Ryder Cup, provides a new landscape after Woburn had served this event so well.
Lawlor is one of five Irish players teeing it up alongside Paul O’Kelly, Cian Arthurs, Conal Flynn and Ian St John.

Alps Tour
