In a week where LIV Golf’s future – or the potential lack thereof – dominated the narrative, it was business as usual for Jon Rahm at LIV Golf Mexico as the Spaniard claimed his second win of the 2026 campaign with six shots to spare.
The $4 million first prize, combined with two $18 million prizes for winning the season-long rankings titles, takes Rahm’s total LIV earnings to almost $92 million accrued across 32 starts, meaning he’s averaged almost $3 million individually per event since making the move in late 2023.
Tom McKibbin held sole possession of the lead in the early stages of round three, but had to settle for a T5 finish that earned him $615,000, though his performance alongside his team captain’s meant that Legion XIII stormed to a comprehensive team victory and take the bonus $3 million payout of which each individual claims $300,000, meaning the Holywood man grosses close to a million dollars for his trip to Mexico.
On the PGA Tour, Matt Fitzpatrick overcame a partisan crowd and the world number one in a playoff to record his second PGA Tour win of the year and the $3.6 million cheque, taking his season’s earnings over the $9 million mark and his total career earnings on the PGA Tour to $38,974,359.
Scheffler, who also finished runner-up to Rory McIlroy at Augusta National last week, becomes the first player since Greg Norman in 1986 to be bridesmaid two weeks in a row, though the $2.16 million he earned at the RBC Heritage, combined with the $2.43 million means he earned more than $4.5 million in those two weeks and he draws within $7 million of Rory McIlroy who holds the number two position in all-time career PGA Tour earnings.
Shane Lowry’s week ended with a frustrating one-over 72 that saw him slip to T42 and pick up just over $55k.
Pádraig Harrington’s hopes of adding a Senior PGA Championship title to the U.S. Senior and Senior Open Championship crowns he’s earned – and currently holds – will have to wait another year.
Reigning PGA Tour Champions rankings winner Stewart Cink produced an impressive weekend to cruise to victory and pick up the $540,000 top prize and his first senior major, while Harrington’s T8 finish earned him $83,515.
On the LPGA Tour, Australian Hannah Greene picked up her fourth win in five starts when she added the JM Eagle Championship to the HSBC Women’s World Championship (LPGA Tour), and Australian Women’s Open and Australian WPGA Championship (both LET) titles she claimed.
Her winnings of $712,500 take her total LPGA Tour career earnings to $8.8 million, with $1.2 million of that coming in 2026 alone.
