Ronan Mullarney’s brilliant five-under-par 66 in the final round wasn’t quite enough for victory as 36-hole leader Jerry Ji matched Mullarney for a three-shot victory at the Andorra Open.

Mullarney couldn’t get much going on the front nine but a back-nine four-under-par 32 was enough for a second-place finish, moving the Galway man to seventh in the Alps Tour Order of Merit.

Jerry Ji of the Netherlands meanwhile secured his first professional victory at the 2025 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand, finishing with a total score of 14-under-par. Spain’s Ruben Pardo Rodríguez and Javier Calles Roman, joined Mullarney in second place. One shot further back, England’s Mason Essam and Spain’s Javier Sainz shared 5th place at 10-under-par, rounding out a tightly contested leaderboard.

Ji surged into a share of the lead after the second round and closed out the tournament with an impressive final round of 5 under-par 66 to finish with a tournament total of 14 under-par. His final round included seven birdies, on holes 3, 4, 7, 10, 14, 17, and 18, offsetting two early bogeys on holes 1 and 8.

The two birdies on the final two holes proved decisive, sealing a well-earned victory in a tightly contested finish. Reflecting on the win, Ji said, “It’s amazing. To win any tournament is special, but to win my first tournament and have it be an Alps Tour event is such a cool experience. This win is for my entire family; they have been with me through the good and the bad times, so it’s definitely for them.”

He continued, “Today I played my own game. A lot of good players were making a move, and it was tough, but I was lucky to make some clutch putts, especially on the back nine, and was able to remain in the lead.” Ji credited his solid play throughout the week, explaining, “Everything tee to green was very solid. Maybe what made the difference was my putting—I made a few more putts than usual.”

Looking ahead, he said, “I’m excited to enjoy this win today. It’s been a lot of hard work, so I’m ready to enjoy it, but from tomorrow my focus shifts to the next tournament. It’s a new venue for me; I’ve never been there, so I’m excited to have a few good practice rounds and be ready to compete again next week.”

Ji concluded, “This win is gratifying, but it doesn’t change my season goals. Like all the players, we compete to try and finish the season in the Top 5 to head to the HotelPlanner Tour. This win definitely helps me earn more points, and I’m very happy.”

Robert Moran snuck into the top-10 with an unspectacular one-under-par 70 or a seven-under-par total, and Michael Young finished a shot further back after a second consecutive four-under-par 67, top finish in the top-20.
