Lauren Walsh endured a tough day at the Tenerife Open as she saw her 36-hole lead disappear and she will now play the role of the hunter on Sunday.

Walsh slumped to a five over round of 77 to fall back to four-under for the tournament but she still remains in the mix for her maiden LET title at four shots back.

An opening bogey set the tone for a tough day for the Castlewarden native and after a run of pars, three bogeys in four holes on the 8th, 10th and 11th dropped her out of a share of the lead.

A double bogey on the 15th compounded her misery but she rallied late on with a crucial birdie on 17 to keep her in a share of tenth place and still with a glimmer of hope of catching Sara Kouskova who leads on eight-under.

Kouskova, the most recent winner at the Jabra Ladies Open, continued her fantastic form firing a round of 69.

“It was nice and steady today,” Kouskova said. “Patient I would say. Lots of solid shots and a great save at the 18th. I think yesterday was tough towards the end. I struggled to keep my focus when I was finishing. So it was nice to get it going today. I’m looking forward to some rest!

“I try not to think about it [winning again]. I’m just happy that I’m hitting good shots and we’re making good decisions. We’ll see what tomorrow brings.”

A stacked leaderboard follows heading into the final round; Spain’s Ana Pelaez Trivino, Singapore’s Shannon Tan and Finland’s Noora Komulainen sharing second position on seven-under par.
