John Ross Galbraith had to settle for a top-10 finish at the Clutch Pro Tour’s Caddy Comps Championships at Clandon Regis as David Langley ran out a comfortable winner.
Galbraith was just three shots off the lead heading into a final round but despite a closing effort of 71 he finished five shots off the pace on eleven-under-par and in a share of ninth place.
It’s back to back top-10 finishes for the Whitehead Golf Club man who mixed four birdies and three bogeys in his final round.
Galbraith opened with six straight pars before a birdie, bogey run to the turn saw him complete the front nine in 36 shots.
Needing to blitz the back nine to revive his chances of a maiden professional victory, Galbraith birdied the tenth and twelfth holes but couldn’t keep it going as he dropped shots on 13 and 16, either side of a birdie on 15.
Meanwhile, Naas man Robert Brazill carded a final round of 68 for an eight-under total and share of 16th place alongside Mallow’s James Sugrue who closed with a 70.
Daniel Mulligan shared 35th on three-under with Balcarrick’s Conor Murtagh a shot further back.
