After coming within a whisker of his maiden professional victory last week, John Ross Galbraith shares the lead after the opening day of the Caddy Comps Championship.
Galbraith carded a superb bogey-free round of 64 to reach the summit on eight-under-par alongside England’s Samuel Byford.
The Whitehead Golf Club man opened with three pars before roaring to the turn with four birdies in his next six holes.
Galbraith birdied the tenth before rolling in back to back gains on 12 and 13. A birdie on the 15th ensured he would end the day in a share of the lead.
Mallow’s James Sugrue continued his fine form with a four-under 68 to lie just four shots off the pace while Conor Murtagh and Robert Brazill are two-under after rounds of 70.
