The majors continue to come thick and fast, this time it’s the turn of the women as Leona Maguire tees it up at the US Women’s Open at Erin Hills while Shane Lowry is the lone Irishman on the PGA Tour at the latest Signature Event, the Memorial Tournament.

LPGA Tour

Leona Maguire looks to kickstart her season at Erin Hills as the US Women’s Open Championship gets underway. Erin Hills has been a happy hunting ground for Irish golf in the past with Matthew McClean beating Hugh Foley at the 2022 US Mid-Amateur Championship.

Maguire has missed back to back cuts on the LPGA Tour so her spirits won’t be as high as she would have liked coming to a major where she has missed four of six cuts although she was 8th in 2022.

PGA Tour

No Rory McIlroy this week but Shane Lowry does return to action for the first time since missing the cut at the PGA Championship as he tackles Jack’s place at the Memorial Tournament.

Lowry’s record at Muirfield Village is decent with a career best T-6 finish coming in 2021 and an average score of 72.54 from eight appearances.

DP World Tour

Conor Purcell tees it up again at the Austrian Alpine Open at Gut Altentann GC as he looks to keep his bid to retain his full DP World Tour playing privileges on track.

Purcell made the cut last week at the Soudal Open but some costly double bogeys saw him finish in a share of 49th place to move from 136th to 135th in the Race to Dubai.

HotelPlanner Tour

Liam Nolan, Mark Power, Jonathan Caldwell, Dermot McElroy and Max Kennedy are all in the field for the Challenge de Cadiz.

Nolan moved up to 7th on the Road to Mallorca rankings thanks to a third place finish at the Danish Golf Challenge which arrested a run of five straight missed cuts.

PGA Tour Champions

Pádraig Harrington will have little time to lick his wounds following his Senior PGA Championship near miss on Sunday when he tees it up in the Principal Charity Classic alongside Darren Clarke who shared 11th place last week at Congressional.

Sunshine Tour

Liam Grehan and Rowan Lester will be looking to qualify for the Gary & Vivienne Player Challenge.
