Stewart Cink birdied the first playoff hole to win the 2025 Insperity Invitational over 36-hole co-leader and World Golf Hall of Fame member Retief Goosen.
Cink began the day two shots off the pace set by Goosen and Canadian Mike Weir but fired a 4-under 68 that included a birdie putt at the par-4 17th to move into a tie at 11-under and force the fourth playoff in Insperity Invitational tournament history.
A biride at the first playoff hole was enough for the American to get the better of Goosen and earn his second win since joining the Champions Tour.
“So today was a blast. Me and Chris Jones, my caddie, had a good thing going, as we always do. But I executed pretty well, for the most part. And when I didn’t, I fought really hard. And I was really proud of the way I just hung in there all the way through the, you know, 55th hole,” said Cink.
“I’ve been playing fairly solidly, and I just think it was all about just trusting all the way through the finish line. You know, golf is just not easy. But I have a blast out there, you know, fighting, falling back. Sometimes it feels like feast or famine, but it’s a — it’s a great game. I love it.”
Pádraig Harrington put on a Sunday charge that saw him climb all the way into a share of eleventh place on six-under.
Harrington carded a bogey free 66 which included five birdies in his first seven holes as he moved to within four shots of the lead.
The birdies dried up for the 53-year-old but he found another on the par-5 15th.
Darren Clarke also finished on six-under after a final round of 70.
