Sara Byrne missed the cut at the Epson Tour’s Reliance Matrix Championship as her slow start to professional golf in the US continued.
Byrne had work to do after an opening 74 and despite improving with a 73 she missed the cut by two shots on three-over-par.
The Dromoland Castle star had given herself hope of making it to the weekend after turning in 35 thanks to three birdies and two bogeys but two bogeys in three holes on her back nine left her with too much to do on the closing stretch.
It’s three missed cuts in five starts for the 23-year-old who shares her time between the Epson and Ladies European Tours.
Darcey Addicks leads by one on eight-under.
“I’ve been playing really good golf, been hitting it well, struggled last week. It was kind of an anomaly, I just really didn’t hit it well and then it just got in my head, and I couldn’t get out of it,” said Addicks. “But this is kind of the golf I’ve being playing for a while now and just was waiting for it to show up on the Epson Tour. So, you know, going into the weekend, just continuing to play the same golf.”
