Olivia Costello is up and running for the season after she romped to a fourteen shot win at the Triple A Series World Final at San Roque Golf Club.
Teeing off with a seven shot lead, Costello doubled her advantage at the end of the day as she closed with a round of 76 for a two-under total ahead of Siria Ballini Sanini.
The Roscommon star who had some close shaves in Spain on two occasions already this season, opened with a bogey before restoring parity with a birdie on the second.
The sixteen-year-old carded back to back bogeys on the fourth and fifth and a birdie on the sixth was a bright spark in what was a rocky period to the turn where she double bogeyed the 8th and bogeyed the ninth and tenth holes.
There would be no disaster though as she strung together six successive pars and a birdie on the 17th to seal the deal in style.
Costello’s record in Spain through the winter and spring has been excellent with runner-up finishes at the Spanish Amateur and Copa Andalucia while she was third at the Triple A Championship last November.
